HOW MUCH DOES HOSPICE COST?

Hospice care is 100% covered by Medicare Part A or Medi-Cal. 
This includes services such as nursing, certified home health aide, medical social worker visits, and spiritual care. As well as medical supplies, medical equipment, and supplies related to the terminal illness.
 
California Mission Hospice also takes Cal-Optima insurance.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CONDITION IMPROVES?

If a patients condition improves or the disease goes into remission, the patient can be discharged from hospice care and returned to regular medical treatment. Patients have the right to stop hospice care, for any reason.
 
If a patient needs to return to hospice in the future, the patients services can be resumed if they are elegible for hospice.

HOW IS HOSPICE DIFFERENT FROM HOME HEALTH CARE?

Home Health Care focuses on the recovery of an illness or injury of the patient. Visits consist of medical treatment, physical therapy, etc. 
 
Hospice Care focuses on keeping the patient comfortable as symptoms of a terminal illness progresses. Hospice Care also provides emotional and spiritual support for both the patient and family in addition to medical visits focused on comfort.
